Poetic Transformation 1

In which one finds...

A poem from the 1995 version of myself and 2(!) updated takes on parts of the material. The original is called "A Fat Pie Lip in the Face" and it was one of the best pieces my 22 year old self had created. It was designed to be read out loud. There is a specific way it should be heard. And yet...

I notice with a 50 year old brain that the piece is less than coherent. It sounds cool and has some great popping-off-the-page imagery. But what is it saying??? Hmmmm.

The first updated take is called "False Advertising" and the second is "Expectant". They both walk away from the strident tone of the original material and there is a calm clarity now. Enjoy.
